If Long is Kung Fu Panda's Tigress, then this guy is Tai Lung, right down to the deep-seated insecurity issues. The former leader of the ZLF and clone of Long Shin, Shenlong is our resident dark counterpart. Contrast that with the zoanthrope form, which forgoes any shred of human clothing and exists as a pure Beetlemon-styled tank of badassery. Goldberg evoke a guy living on the outskirts trying to obfuscate his own appearance, likely out of shame. Given just what he's been doing to sustain himself while he's exiled from open society, I guess it fits. In BR3, it's a flowier dark ensemble that makes him look like a manga anti-hero. Said procedure was unstable and led to Steven taking a decidedly not-human human form. Upon discovering the depths of unethical experimentation that the company was engaging in, Steven was forcibly mutated into a zoanthrope by a fellow scientist. Steven Goldberg was a relatively benevolent human scientist in the employ of Tylon. Zoanthrope form: Insect (specifically, a beetle) I suppose the shared feline motif between their zoanthrope forms was just a happy coincidence. Given that Long is her teacher at this point, wearing similar garb to him makes sense. She's more Simone Lenoir from Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island than Felicia from Darkstalkers, but she's definitely more humanoid - I hesitate to say "cute" - than her fellow combatants. Due to the experimentation done on her, she can only transform partially, taking a catlike appearance while still retaining most of her human features. She's taken to wearing a long-sleeved modified qipao, her hands obfuscated until her zoanthrope transformation. In the five years since, Uriko grew into a young high school student, her physical human body restored to its proper age. She's saved by the heroes and brought home to her mother and adopted sister Alice (Uriko being the other test subject who aided her escape). She appears before the match barefooted and in white robes, before undergoing two transformations: first, into a green-haired woman wearing a white and pink bodysuit and then, a horrifying artificial chimera. Uriko Nonomura was a nine-year-old during the events of the original Bloody Roar, kidnapped from her home and experimented on so she could serve as the game's final boss. Its claim to fame to set it apart from the other fighters on the market is right there in the title.
